Introduction

Visit Aswan’s most famous sights from Luxor: the Unfinished Obelisk, from the era of the ancient Pharaoh Hatshepsut; the beautiful temple of Philae, located on an island in the Nile; and High Dam, built in the 1960s to protect Egypt from the Nile’s tremendous floods.

A Day in Aswan from Luxor Untitled 1 1

A My Great Egypt Tours Representative will pick you up from your hotel to meet with your Egyptologist guide to begin your amazing “day tour” visiting the famous sights of Aswan. You will be driven by private air conditioned vehicle to Aswan to enjoy with your adventure to the High Dam. The High Dam was built in the period of President Nasser to protect Egypt from the dangerous Nile Floods. We will then journey to the Temple of Philae. To reach the Temple of Philae we will cross the Nile by boat. Lunch will be served at a Local restaurant featuring some of the best Egyptian style cuisine. Then our journey will continue to the Unfinished Obelisk. Archaeologists suggest that the Queen Hatshepsut ordered the Obelisk to be built to celebrate her sixteenth year in power. We will end our journey with a relaxing felucca trip. A felucca is a local boat with music where you will be able to see the magnificent area from the river. At the end of your adventure you will be safely returned to your hotel in Luxor.
