A Day in Aswan

Introduction

Visit Aswan’s most famous sights: the Unfinished Obelisk, from the era of the ancient Pharaoh Hatshepsut; the beautiful temple of Philae, located on an island in the Nile; and High Dam, built in the 1960s to protect Egypt from the Nile’s tremendous floods.

A Day in Aswan Untitled 1 3

A My Great Egypt Tours Representative will pick you up from your hotel where you will meet your Egyptologist guide. We will start your amazing “day tour” visiting the famous sights of Aswan. We will first travel, by private vehicle with A/C, to the High Dam, which was built in the period of President Nasser to protect Egypt from the dangerous Nile floods. We will then proceed to the Temple of Philae where you will cross the Nile by boat to reach the temple. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant featuring some of the unique Egyptian style cuisine. Next we will continue the tour to visit the Unfinished Obelisk, which archaeologists suggest that the Queen Hatshepsut ordered it to be built to celebrate her sixteenth year in power. Finally we will enjoy a felucca trip (local boat with music) on the Nile for a relaxing view of the area. After your journey you will be safely returned to your hotel.
